Services Performed
- Check vehicle trouble codes; found many assorted codes for low voltage supply and other codes for related control units. First, check battery and charging system; found charging system good, but vehicle systems battery weak and failed battery test. Also battery is a 2014 production. REPLACED VEHICLE SYSTEMS BATTERY AND CLEARED ALL TROUBLE CODES. Recheck trouble codes in all control units; found current code that will not erase, in particular Rt/frt SAM module; B1000 (Control module N10/11, passenger side SAM is faulty, If there are no customer complaint, the fault can be cleared); also stored code B1013-001 (Terminal circuit 15 short circuit to battery). Check vehicle for key off current draw and found 3.6 amp current draw after vehicle sits overnight. Trace battery current draw to Rt/frt SAM control module and draw is eliminated when Rt/frt SAM module is disconnected from the vehicle. However, after re-installing Rt/frt SAM module, the current draw is now approx 50 -70 milliamps; good. The control module reset itself and current draw is at specification. Perform Road test and found that all systems operate normally, but found that the two same codes were re-detected by the Rt/frt SAM module; B1000 (Control module N10/11, passenger side SAM is faulty, If there are no customer complaint, the fault can be cleared); also stored code B1013-001 (Terminal circuit 15 short circuit to battery). RECOMMEND TO REPLACE THE RT/FRT SAM CONTROL MODULE AND PERFORM INITIAL START UP. PERFORM DRIVE CYCLE AND RECHECK FUNCTION OF BODY AND ACCESSORIES SYSTEMS.
- COURTESY INSPECTION
- Related to radio concern with Rt/frt SAM module and battery low voltage condition.
- Replace Rt/side SAM control module. Perform initial start up and coding. Clear all trouble codes and road test; no codes redetected and all systems normal operation at this time.
